Velo Systems Limited (Trading as Aria Retail and Gladiator Computers) is a major supplier of PC compatible computer components and peripherals across the UK. We supply thousands of end users, students, public and private sector companies, central government offices and education providers each year with quality products and services, all at highly competitive prices.

The company was established in Manchester in 1993 by our current managing director, Aria Taheri. Aria was awarded an engineering degree with honours in Electronics from the University of Bath in 1991; and then worked for a period in the electronics industry before attending the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology (UMIST), where he gained his postgraduate MSc.

Based upon his experience in the electronics and computer world, Aria established Aria Technology Limited with the aim of making computer products and services more accessible for individuals and businesses by ensuring quality products were sourced and distributed to the marketplace at affordable prices.

Aria recently featured on the popular Channel 4 reality show The Secret Millionaire, during which he went undercover in Sparbrook in Birmingham; spent time volunteering with several charitable organisations; and eventually revealed his identity, surprising several of the charities concerned with donations. We have has traded successfully for 20 years, and are now established as a leader in the market place with a forecasted turnover of £20m for the coming year.

The company employs over 35 individuals who together have a vast array of knowledge and expertise within the Information Technology sector. As the business continues to grow and develop, we constantly strengthen the team through in-house training and product knowledge updates as new technology is launched. Accounts Assistant

Your new company

Your new role

This job is designed for a progressive, career driven candidate with previous accounts experience. The Accounts Assistant role will suit somebody who wants to progress their career and have a real influence in how the department and wider company moves forward.

Working closely with the Head of Accounts, you will be given great exposure to month and year end processes, allowing you to progress further in the finance team.

What you'll need to succeed

To successfully secure this job, you will need to have 12 months+ of accounts experience and be able to highlight your hunger to progress. This is a busy office, in a fast paced market and you will be expected to work to deadlines to assist the company in meetings its objectives.

The successful candidate will be someone who is hardworking, enthusiastic and reliable. You must be presentable, a good communicator, willing to learn and able to use your own initiative.

You will also need to be motivated, keen on self-progression and with a good work ethic to play a part in the growth of the business.

Ideally you will:

  • Be passionate about a career within the IT industry 
  • Be AAT Qualified or qualified by experience to a similar level
  • Have previous experience of Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, accruals & prepayments, accounts analysis and actual to budget commentary.
  • Have previous experience of undergoing Annual Audit
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
  • Be willing to take on ad-hoc project work
  • Be able to work in a fast paced environment and with a high degree of accuracy and sound attention to detail
  • Possess strong communication skills as you be have to deal with the other departments in an advisory capacity.

CUSTOMER SERVICE ADVISOR (FULL TRAINING PROVIDED)

Your new role

You will be providing high quality Customer Service to our customers and potential customers. This will predominantly be via telephone, email and Facebook.

As a Technology company, it is paramount that you have an understanding of components and the industry as a whole, you will also be hungry to learn more in this fast moving environment. 

You must be empathic and listen to the customer to gauge their needs. You will have the ability to communicate orally and written in a manner that allows for ease of understanding by people of all abilities.

What you'll need to succeed

To successfully secure this job, you will need to have some knowledge of computer components and be able to highlight your hunger to progress.

This job is designed for a candidate with previous warehouse, Picker, Packer and/or building PCs experience. The Mixed Role will suit somebody who wants variety in their career and have a real influence in how the department and wider company moves forward.

Working closely with the Operations Supervisor and the Systems Supervisor, you will be given great exposure to whole workings of the Company.

What you'll need to succeed as a Picker, Packer, System Builder

To successfully secure this job, you will need to have some warehouse and/or building PC experience. This is a busy company, in a fast paced market and you will be expected to work to KPIs in order to assist the company in meetings its objectives and SLAs.

The successful candidate will be someone who is hardworking, enthusiastic and reliable. You must be presentable, a good communicator, willing to learn and able to use your own initiative. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy is a must for this position.

Ideally you will
  • Be passionate about a career within the IT industry and have a knowledge of technology, components and computers
  • Have previous warehouse experience
  • Have knowledge of Building/Repairing PC’s (not essential)
  • Feel comfortable with performance guidelines
  • Whilst experience is not necessary to apply for this position, good communication skills and the desire to achieve are essential.

Sketch Artist and Social Media Coordinator

As one of the well known PC component and system retailers in the UK, we are looking for a versatile applicant to maintain and improve our social media presence.

As part of a dynamic and fast-moving small team, you will have an opportunity to put to work your existing experience while developing new skills.  You should have either existing social media and artistic skills and a willingness to get involved in other areas of the business. We are particularly interested in applicants who are able to produce 'comic' styled artwork (e.g. Viz comics).

As a Social Media Co-ordinator for Gladiator Computers and www.aria.co.uk you will manage the social media accounts across both brands via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google +. You will work closely with the team to create and promote organic content, deliver engaging customer content and continually promote the brands.

What you'll be responsible for as a Social Media Executive:

  • Daily maintenance, implementation and management of our social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Google+)
  • Production of some of the graphics and artwork for the company - an ability to produce engaging comic-style media would be highly advantageous.
  • Ensuring all content is delivered in the appropriate brand tone of voice
  • Working closely with the key stakeholders from across the business and external agencies to expand reach and engagement
  • Create, manage and develop the Social Media content plan, aligning with the purchasing and commercial team and plans to develop content schedule.
  • Working cross-functionally with other key stakeholders in the business such as Purchasing, Operations and Commercial.
  • Monitoring and reporting of social statistics using web analytics software
  • Identifying trends and patterns in data to facilitate and guide future social activities
  • Working with creative in-house expertise and external agencies to develop content & assets for digital campaigns
