Velo Systems Limited (Trading as Aria Retail and Gladiator Computers) is a major supplier of PC compatible computer components and peripherals across the UK. We supply thousands of end users, students, public and private sector companies, central government offices and education providers each year with quality products and services, all at highly competitive prices.

The company was established in Manchester in 1993 by our current managing director, Aria Taheri. Aria was awarded an engineering degree with honours in Electronics from the University of Bath in 1991; and then worked for a period in the electronics industry before attending the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology (UMIST), where he gained his postgraduate MSc.

Based upon his experience in the electronics and computer world, Aria established Aria Technology Limited with the aim of making computer products and services more accessible for individuals and businesses by ensuring quality products were sourced and distributed to the marketplace at affordable prices.

Aria recently featured on the popular Channel 4 reality show The Secret Millionaire, during which he went undercover in Sparbrook in Birmingham; spent time volunteering with several charitable organisations; and eventually revealed his identity, surprising several of the charities concerned with donations. We have has traded successfully for 20 years, and are now established as a leader in the market place with a forecasted turnover of £20m for the coming year.

The company employs over 35 individuals who together have a vast array of knowledge and expertise within the Information Technology sector. Social Media Co-ordinator and System Builder

As one of the fastest growing PC component and system retailers in the UK, we are looking for a versatile applicant to work on improve both our social media presence and and our system building and order fulfilment processes.

As part of a dynamic and fast-moving small team, you will have an opportunity to put to work your existing experience while developing new skills.  You should have either existing social media skills and a willingness to 'get your hands dirty' in other areas of the business, or have existing experience of warehouse and order fulfilment and an interest and grounding in social media and marketing.

As a Social Media Co-ordinator for Gladiator Computers and www.aria.co.uk you will manage the social media accounts across both brands via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google +. You will work closely with the team to create and promote organic content, deliver engaging customer content and continually promote the brands.  

Would suit a marketing graduate who is used to working in a supermarket (asda etc)

What you'll be responsible for as a Social Media Executive:

  • Daily maintenance, implementation and management of our social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Google+)
  • Ensuring all content is delivered in the appropriate brand tone of voice
  • Developing data and CRM opportunities across our social platforms by working closely with the Marketing Manager to start to understand ROI
  • Working closely with the key stakeholders from across the business and external agencies to expand reach and engagement
  • Create, manage and develop the Social Media content plan, aligning with the purchasing and commercial team and plans to develop content schedule.
  • Working cross-functionally with other key stakeholders in the business such as Purchasing, Operations and Commercial.
  • Monitoring and reporting of social statistics using web analytics software
  • Identifying trends and patterns in data to facilitate and guide future social activities
  • Working with creative in-house expertise and external agencies to develop content & assets for digital campaigns

What you will need to succeed as a Social Media Coordinator:

  • Ability to work in a mixed role, as part of a small and fast moving company, everyone gets their hands dirty.
  • Proven experience of successfully managing multiple social media accounts, ideally in a retail context.
  • A passion for social media across all channels.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player.
  • A driven and motivated creative thinker, with a passion for creating engaging content.
  • An understanding of retail businesses, and ideally computers and gaming.

Products Manager £18-20k Per Annum

This role is designed for a candidate with previous purchasing experience, preferably within the Computer/Technology industry.

This role while primarily focused on purchasing is extremely varied. You will be expected to build up relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers and will be proposing new products/marketing activities to the Senior Products Manager.

What you'll need to succeed

To secure this position you will need to be highly motivated with a good work ethic. You must possess excellent communication skills both orally and written and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

You will need to have a passion for computer technology and understand how the fast moving industry would affect buying habits so that you can ensure adequate stock levels of your products. You will need to demonstrate a sound logical mindset.  Training will be provided.

Ideally you will:

  • Be passionate about a career within the IT industry and have a knowledge of  technology, components and computers
  • Have previous purchasing experience (not essential)
  • Be driven by performance guidelines
  • Be able to work in a fast paced environment and with a high degree of attention to detail

Sales Executive

Your new role as a Sales Executive

You will be providing telephone based account management and other support activities for new business to grow your portfolio of Key Accounts (this will involve an element of cold calling). As a Sales Executive You will have to ensure that they get the high level of service they have come to expect from us. 

As a Technology company it is paramount that you have a thorough understanding of components and the industry as a whole, you will also be hungry to learn more in this fast moving environment. As a Sales Executive you will also have the ability to communicate this in a way that allows for ease of understanding by people of all technical abilities. 

We pride ourselves on the fact that we cater to all of our customers needs making sure that they always get best value for money, we do not condone pressure sales of any form. 

Working closely with the Operations Supervisor and the Systems Supervisor, as a Sales Executive you will be given great exposure to whole workings of the Company. 

What you'll need to succeed as a Sales Executive 

To successfully secure this job, you will need to have 12 months+ of proven sales experience and be able to highlight your hunger to progress. This is a busy company, in a fast paced market and you will be expected to work to targets in order to assist the company in meetings its objectives and SLA's. 

The successful Sales Executive candidate will be someone who is hardworking, enthusiastic and reliable. You must be presentable, a good communicator, willing to learn and able to use your own initiative. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy is a must for this position. 

You will be expected to build strategic relationships with senior members of the companies key accounts in order to maximise contract and future growth. 

You will also need to be motivated with a good work ethic to play a part in the growth of the business. 

Ideally you will

  • Have a good standard of education and proven sales experience
