Description:

Kingston Technology’s SSDNow V100 solid-state drive dramatically improves performance with impressive speeds. It makes any user more productive by speeding up boot times and application loads while removing hard drive crashes and failures.

SSDNow V100 is ideal for consumers or small businesses looking for an affordable way to extend the life of desktops or notebooks at a lower cost than a replacement system. It’s perfect for home users, freelance designers and photographers, video editors, researchers, administrators and educators, and anyone who travels for their job. It’s built with no moving parts to provide durability and reliability and to meet the needs of professionals in the office or on the road.

Question  Question by Sean

I only ask because I order in error the notebook bundle which I have RMA'd I am going to order this product today and just checking it would connect up via SATA cables to my motherboard and such.

Answer by stewartz on Wednesday, August 3, 2011
That should be fine, it still has a SATA power connector and a SATA data connector.

Question  Question by Sean

Can this be used when building a desktop pc to store the o/s??

Answer by stewartz on Tuesday, August 2, 2011
Yes, that is generally how SSD's are used due to there small capacity.

Question  Firmware by Andrew

Hi, can you confirm that these drives all have the latest firmware installed (the one that works) and that all I have to do is plug and play - or can you confirm that we will need to install a new fiormware before we install?

Answer by daniele on Sunday, July 31, 2011
They certainly had the latest firmware when they arrived at our warehouse. However, due to the fast paced nature of firmware updates it is always best to check the firmware and update it yourself before you install the OS

Question  Manufacturer\\'s Fault by pete moore

bought one of these a couple of months ago and just had the drive fail to boot. I can't apply the firmware update fix that Kingston suggest, because the update program doesn't recognise the device as a drive - so I can't update the firmware!

Strangely though, when I put the drive in an external enclosure, Windows recognised the device - but not as a drive??

q: Do I return the faulty drive to Aria or the manufacturer for a refund/replacement?

Think I'll stick with Mushkin drives in future!
-pete
