 great by DazzyB

had mine delivered 9AM Monday morning, i ordered this for the NAS but wanted to play with the built in web server also, to my surprise this has PHPBB3, wiki, blog, phpmyadmin and other things pre-installed

for some reason i couldn't bring up the menu to format my hard drive until after i had plugged a USB stick into the back (hope this helps if anyone has similar problems)

No repeater function by Nathan

This is a great box for the price, easy to use & straightforward to set up.

I want to clarify a question that has been asked on here & not fully answered though. I bought one of these in the vague hope that I could use it as a standalone NAS on my current wireless network (ie have this talk to my current wireless router over WIFI). This isn't possible, it needs to be connected to your modem/router with a network cable.

It doesn't act as a wireless client (repeater/extender), it works as an access point only. There's no feature to connect it over WIFI to an existing wireless network (at least with the firmware it shipped with).

Question  Upgrade Wi-Fi by The Pigeon

Can this be upgraded to wireless N?

Answer by PeterW on Monday, March 26, 2012
No unfortunately not, you could however, plug it into your wireless N router like a normal NAS and you would effectively have wireless N NAS storage but the in built router is only wifi b/g
