Question  SATA II by Harry

I understand SATA III is backwards compatible? My Mobo is SATA II, is this okay? Also Is the whole 6/Gbps thing a gimmick with mechanical drives? Or will spending out and getting a new SATA III motherboard be completely worth it with this sort of drive?

Thanks,

Harry.

Answer by thomasr on Sunday, April 28, 2013
Hello,

For mechanical HDDs, the whole SATA 2/3 is indeed a gimmick - not difference in performance.

Thank you.

Question  Warranty by dinohead

Just to clarify - this now comes with 2 years warranty?

Hello,

This is correct.

Thank you.

Question  Price query? by OldShep

Email received 14/1/2013 quoted 59.94gbp inc vat for this drive. Website saying 65.99gbp today (16/1/13).
Which is correct please (why do I think I already know the answer to this query!).

Thanks, Martin

Answer by PeterW on Wednesday, January 16, 2013
Offer is now over i'm afraid Martin. They usually only last 1-2 days or while stocks last. We do have an offer on 3TB currently at the moment @ £83.99 which makes £/GB @ 0.0279966 compared with the 2TB deal £/GB @ 0.02997 so the 3TB is definitely the best value for your money at the moment! the 3TB deal is only on until tomorrow evening. Hopefully this helps Cheers

Question  sata by Gatsby

Does this harddrive work with any type of sata motherboard.

Answer by stw3 on Monday, January 14, 2013
Hello

This should work with most motherboards. Please check you have a sata port free and you can add a hdd of this size of drive.

Thanks for your question.

Question  q-nap compatable by Keith

Will this drive be ok for a q-nap ts-212

Answer by PeterW on Wednesday, October 3, 2012
I cannot guarantee compatability but to be honest you should have no issues using this drive in the ts-212. The ST1000DM001 and the ST3000DM001 are listed as being compatible in QNAPS "unofficial" compatability list which are just the 1TB + 3TB variants of this drive.
