Win XP 32 bit by Woowl

This drive should work ok on windows XP if you can run service pack 3 and you partition the drive into 999GB partitions. you may need to go into your storage manager and make each partition active and you might also need to assign a manual drive letter. Hope this is some help.

Question  32/64 bit compatable by DaveB

Is there no way to make these drives work on a 32bit XP operating system. No patch or usb device that will enable me to use my drive. Bo ho I purchased one but own XP 32bit.

Answer by patrickc on Tuesday, April 15, 2014
We cannot help with this as XP support has now ended.I would suggest upgrading to either Windows 7 or Windows 8

Question  Question by @JamesSM

I see that this drive is listed as OEM - does it still come boxed though, for protection during shipping?

I've bought a WD drive before and it came in a protective box with foam inserts - is this how all OEM drives are packaged?

Answer by patrickc on Monday, March 24, 2014
It will be packaged to prevent damage during shipping.

Question  32/64 bit compatibility by Grumbee

I've been told there may be issues with large drives and 32 bit programmes. Not being too great on the tech specs, can you confirm that this drive will run on a 32bit machine or will I need to run as 64 bit??

Answer by patrickc on Monday, March 10, 2014
You will need a 64bit OS.
