Question  My speed will be effected by Terry Sid

    Hi Aria,
I have Talktalk connection with two ports. I like to add two more. The question: Is it going to reduce my B.Band speed?
    Thank you.

Answer by mohamedA on Sunday, March 25, 2012
no it shouldnt though it will limit your lan connection to 100mb
most people donot have 100mb + broadband yet so they wouldnt need a gigabit switch
so unless you need 1000mb connection this should be fine

Question  How to connect to a cable modem by Traceylew

I have a virgin cable modem with only 1 ethernet port. How do I connect this device, so I can have more ethernet ports?

Answer by stewartz on Saturday, February 4, 2012
You would plug the ethernet cable from the only one of the virgin modem to the port which is slightly spaced away from the others on the back of this.

    Question  Question by Dave

Will this work to share an internet connection between 3 devices.

The idea is to have my adsl router downstairs, have that connected to a powerline ethernet adapter and then upstairs from the powerline ethernet adapter into a switch and onto 3 pieces of equipment.

Will it figure out which is the internet connection or does it have an "uplink" rj45 port for that? If not do i need a router, can you point me in the right direction.

    Andrew
