LG's LED technology provides a slim profile and delivers amazing brightness, clarity and color detail, as well as greater energy efficiency compared to conventional monitors. With almost double the pixel resolution, Full HD 1080p gives it superior picture quality over standard resolution. You'll see details and colors like never before.
Super In-Plane Switching controls the liquid crystal display to help keep distortion at a minimum and allows users to view images on the screen at virtually any angle. Worrying about dark scenes is a thing of the past. The mega contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1 delivers vivid colors and deep blacks.

Great value by Gordon
Took me a while to get around to this, but after nine months of use and testing in various ways I am more than happy with this panel. I use it as a main screen in dual screen mode whilst developing web pages (with a 19" 4x3 for the source code etc.) and also working in photoshop.
I won't get technical, let's just say the sharpness, colour representation and response times are super, from Photoshop work through to watching Hi-Res DVD. The only slight annoyance is a slight shadow cast from the bottom corners but you have to look for it... The view angle is superb and would put Dell Vostro laptop LED backlit TFT's to shame for sure.
For those who wonder about the various spec's available for this panel it does have speakers and they work fine as a standby if there's no sound card speakers connected to the PC.
You won't be disappointed, IPS hits the spot and this panel does what it says on the tin.

SWWWEEEEETTT! by Liam
Just got this a week ago to go with my new gaming PC.
It is amazing, the colours are awesome and the resolution is truly amazing, especially if you've had an older 1366/768 monitor like me.
I've used it with: Battlefield 3(beta), World of Warcraft, League of Legends, Starcraft 2, Portal 2, etc.
It provides a truly impressive experience, No HDMI, but we all know that's no big deal, especially for an IPS at this price.
What everybody says about TN and IPS is true for sure, don't compromise!
Review by Mick
Great monitor and the colours have a depth, warmth and complexity. As others have said once you've tried IPS technology you don't want to go back to the cheaper TN. I have both this monitor and the BenQ G222HDL. The BenQ is a good monitor but this is a great one and absolutely worth the extra £50166 of 352 people rated this review as helpful
INPUT SELECT by LG IPS231P
I want to attach one computer to the DVI and a second to the VGA. Can you manually select input from the front panel? Also, are there built in speakers? Many thanks. Andy
