 speed increase fablous by Videoencoder

This cpu can encode video faster than my old XP2800+ Thoughbred B render farm (8 machines). It is so fast the disk subsystem is generally the bottleneck ensuring the cpu never reaches more than about 80%(DVD).
Have Encoded HiDef 1080p at 2 speed(50fps) . The Cpu here does reach 100% workload.

OC it to a stable 3.33GHZ (using a 2.5 multi for MEM as it was the limiting factor up to 3.2GHZ) and not increasing any voltages

If your in the market for a new processor and want to get value for your hard earned cash then you have just arrived in heaven. I finally made the leap from the ever faithful AMD X2's and bought this chip. Let me first say that there is nothing wrong with the AMD's I have used them without complaint for years but this processor really is something else.
One of the first things I noticed after using the AMD's was the pin-less design-very nice, no more playing around with needle nosed pliers trying to straighten out an unfortunate pin. The top surface is large allowing a great deal of contact with the cpu cooler for good heat dissipation and it's surprisingly heavy.
After building my new system and spending time doing the inevitable setup and O/S reinstall I ran the usual benchmarks such as pcmark and sandra lite and was pleased with the results but the true proof is in use, games that used to stutter at high settings are now fluid, everything opens quicker and the hour glass is a thing of the past. If your interested in over clocking then look no further, with a bit of judicious tweaking and a good mother board my cpu now sits happy and stable at 3.02Ghz, yes thats four 3Ghz cores and even sat at 3.25Ghz on an air cooled rig before I got scared and thought I might melt my new chip.
Just one thing, the RETAIL version cpu cooler isn't ideal for over clocking, it's just not man enough but for normal use it's just fine. Do your self a favour and buy one, you know you want to.

I'm converted to Intel after being an AMD fan for years

Good CPUs, but not as good as they used to be by Sam Morris

Took the plunge to upgrade to a quad core a little too late. The CPUs Aria will sell you now are the newest versions, which have a higher VID of 1.325 rather than 1.25, and severely reduced overclocking ability. The highest these chips will reach truly stable at 1.5V is around 3.3Ghz, versus the 3.8-3.9 you could squeeze out of an earlier G0. Low TDP is still the same thankfully, so they will run cool, but if you're looking to join the big overclockers club, save up for a Q9550 E0 (if you can find one).

A must have by steve s

hey everybody

i have just got one of these chips recently (month ago) in a new pc with 4GB of ram

the system i have running is mainly a gaming system but i also do a lot of video and music converting

just to put it bluntly this chip paired with 4gb of ram copyed a cd with 20 songs on into itunes in 14 seconds flat, it also converted a full dvd video from disk to hard drive (with converting) in just over 7 mins

a must have for aby one on a budget, ALSO REMBER to pick up a heatsink item number 20729 will do the job

Just purchased this CPU from Aria on the 2nd, dispatched the 3rd and here on the 4th!
If only other companies were this quick I would be able to tell you how good the processor is! But I'm still waiting on a motherboard (..from elsewhere). Will be ordering more parts from Aria in future.
