Hi! Will this power supply be enough for this build? The standard intel cpu cooler will go in this socket lga1151?

Answer by shaund on Wednesday, November 11, 2015
Hi,

All of the components you have selected will be compatible however I would heavily recommend you do not go for this PSU, for that spec system you really want to be looking at something a bit more reliable, if you want around 600W then the Aerocool Integrator will be a good choice, if you're looking for good reliability and wattage then the 600W EVGA Bronze will be the best choice for the money.

In regards to the cooler the intel stock CPU cooler would be fine for the socket, but again I would recommend something like the Cooler Master TX3, it's still quite cheap and will provide better cooling for the CPU you have selected.

I put this thing in a new build gaming machine running an i5-4590 haswell cpu and a GTX760 graphics card with 8gb of ram. Whilst running Battlefield 4 the PSU burnt out. So if you intend to build a gaming machine avoid this - I have now ordered Corsair CSM 550W Semi Modular 80+ Gold Power Supply which should do the job better - luckily everything else appears to be working ok as I put an old PSU in to test the system without running the graphics card - I really should have known better

 Terrible... by Mac

After diving through 4 of these PSU's I've come to decide they are horrible power supplies. They have blown on me 4 times after 15 minutes of game time each time, wouldn't ever buy this again would rather pay an extra £20 and go for a good trusted brand such as my new corsair one!

Question  would this power do? by David

I have a self build with Asus Hybrid CFX Motherboard, and a NX8800GTX Grafic Card. Need a new power supply. Took old one out Alpine - no model or rating - would you recommend this power unit for this build?

Answer by patrickc on Saturday, May 3, 2014
I would suggest a branded model around 500W such as Corsair, Cooler Master or XFX.
