Great board - needs more BIOS controls by Paul Smith

Bought this to set up a Linux MythTV media centre PC and needed to use spare AMD 64-bit dual core 3800 chip.

All aspects of this motherboard works out the box in Linux (Kubuntu), including the onboard LAN and audio.

The only issue I have with it is that the BIOS is a bit short on options.

Excellent board - excelent value for money! by The Big Show

I bought one of these to replace my previous Via-rubbish board.

This is an excellent board for those who are seeking reliabilty, overclockability, quietness and good if not high-end gaming performance. Totally stable, very quick, easily overclockable, and very quiet with the excellent fan management features and a passive chipset heatsink.

Only minor issue is that there's only one chassis fan header - but this is easily solved with a 2-in-1 Y-splitter cable available from many outlets. My board runs 2 x 120mm fans from the one header with no problems and in near-silence with quiet fan technology enabled

 The Best! by MickY G

Aria have done it yet again! Does their expertise ever end? Ordered Wednesday before Crimbo and arrived the Monday before Crimbo! Right on top of Christmas. How good is that? The board is excellent! Easy to fit (I don't know how to so I got a mate to do it). LOL! Very, very fast compared to my other crap board (unknown as it came with an Acer Aspire T180 of which there is now nothing left)! The onboard sound is excellent and being Realtek Codecs, it will take any of the Realtek HD audio drivers and not just the ALC888 ones that come on the system board CD. The nVidia ethernet is super fast once set up correctly plus its dual speed RAM so it will take a quite faster speed of RAM than I have in at the moment but it\\'s still fast enough for me. I am glad it has no onboard graphics as I have my own GPU and onboard graphics just confuse things even more if you don't know what you are doing? Plus, it's SATA2 but this is also backwards compatible with SATA1 but to be quite honest, there is none or very little difference in speed between the two anyway, so I would'nt bother upgrading to SATA2 if you have SATA1 already. Plenty of PCI expansion slots as well (4). All in all, a thoroughly brilliant system board that I would be happy to recommend to anyone! And the price isn't too bad either? Well done again Aria! Spot on!

 Brilliant! by Bigun

Had an MSI version (K9N Neo V3) - for a day! What a lump. This, like all the Gigabyte boards I have, just works. Very fast and with an intuitive Award BIOS rather than the gash AMI BIOS on the MSI board.

Highly recommended.

 So easy.... by Len

I have both an MSI K9N nvidia 560 based MoBo (with an AMD 5200 Windsor) and this (with an AMD 5600). Although the Gigabyte is dearer, I think the extra few pounds are worth it since the Gigabyte board has a far more intuitive Award BIOS rather than the MSI AMI BIOS, and built in Firewire. The MSI board has a couple of advantages, other than price, over the Gigabyte board - firstly it is far smaller (depth) and secondly it has mostly solid electrolytic capacitors, which should mean long term stability. Other than that, both boards perform the same, with fantastic memory bandwidth thanks to the AMD CPU embedded controller. I would wholly recommend either board.
