Question  Are all these components compatible? by Jordan

Hi I am going to build a computer and am wondering if all of my components will work on this MB.

The specs are:
CPU - Intel Core i7-930
GPU - XFX Radeon HD 5870
RAM - Corsair PC3-12800 (2x2GB)
PSU - Antec True Power Tp 650
Heat Sink - Corsair H50

Thanks alot!

THe i7 930 is a Socket 1366 processor whilst this is a socket 1156 Motherboard, hence they are not compatible

Solid i5 Lynnfield Overclocker. by MB Killer

This is a very nice board for getting the most out of your i5 750. With good air or midrange water cooling 4GHz isn't too hard. Just watch that you don't push the voltages too high and provide plenty of airflow around the CPU power phases since there is no VRM cooling the board is prone to failure due to VRM burn out.

With 8 BIOS profiles there's the possibility of configuring the board for all your usage need profiles and scope for major tweaking without losing a 'known good' overclock setting.

Some of the newer BIOS updates make the board as good at overclocking the newer 32nm Clarkedale i3/i5 CPUs as it is with the i5 750 if two Hyper-Threaded CPU cores is all you need, but there's no support for the integrated GPU. No doubt support for 32nm quad and hexa core CPUs will be added as and when these become available.

The board is ideal for smaller cases being uATX and can handle CrossfireX (at reduced bandwidth 16x + 4x). An i5 750 and a pair of 5770s would make a formidable gaming system.

Memory compatibility is good but high frequency modules will require an FSB overclock as is usual with P55 boards.

7 SATA Ports + 1x eSATA, Texas Instruments 1394 Fire-Wire and 8 external + 4 on-board USB ports allows it to connect to any peripheral you could throw at it (probably all of them at once). The P55A version adds a SATA III 6gbps controller and 2 USB3 ports.

As a system integrator with a focus on overclocked machines this is my favourite P55 board after the Maximus III Extreme which only wins on looks and quad CFX/SLI graphics @ 8x capability.

While I cannot guarantee compatibility, this motherboard should be fine with either cooler.
