A good all rounder by Rob

For the price listed, this is a great choice for your typical gamer who wants to press his gear a little harder than your off the shelf type. Its built in systems and support for low end over-clocking is a breeze. Its nothing compared to one of Asus's ROG line certainly, but at less than half the price? It'll do the job perfectly for most people.

It also comes with Asus's new backpanel style, none of those annoying metal tab's to negotiate the ports around!

If you're doing a rebuild, replacement board, or a new build on a limited budget, I'd highly recommend it.

I'm looking to purchase this motherboard, could you advise me on the following list as to compatability, or maybe even suggest something better

Intel Core i5 760 2.8GHz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156)
Corsair A70 Cooler
Corsair Dominator 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMP4GX3M2A1600C9)
Asus GeForce GTX 460 1024MB DirectCU GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Corsair TX Series 750W ATX2.2 SLI/Crossfire Compliant Power Supply

It's all going to go into my NZXT Phantom case I recieved from you on tuesday ( it's huge!!) I have a budget of around £600 or so.

Thanks guys

Hi Guys..

I'd like to know if this motherboard will fit a Corsair A70 and Corsair Dominator 4gig (2x2 gig), 1600MHz, PC3-12800C9 without any problems? I will be using the NXZT Phantom case i have just purchased from you, and will soon be purchasing from you the Asus GeForce GTS 450 ENGTS450,DirectCU/DI/1GD5 1024MB, GDDR5 PCI-Express, along with an OCZ ModExtreme Pro 700W, Modular, Silent, ATX2.2, Sli/Xfire Ready PSU.

Yep that'll all be fine.

Question  Specifications by Simon

What is the difference between this motherboard and the Asus P7P55D-E LX? And which would you recommend for an i5 760?

Also will this board support a Nivida GTX460 Graphics card?

Thanks

Answer by chriss on Thursday, November 11, 2010
Hi I would advise checking reviews for both boards to make a decision, this would work fine with an Nvidia GTX460, just make sure you have a suitable PSU to run the card properly.
