raid setup a pain in neck by dave scott
Dear sirs i recently purchased a Asus M4A87TD/USB3 AMD 870 (Socket AM3) DDR3 PCI-Express Motherboard .as well as 3 hard drives all samsung 2 tb spinpoints when setting up raid array and installing windows 7 ultimate unable to do so as windows cannot set up about 3/4 off the way through any advise gladly accepted thanks in advance processor is amd 4 athlon (tm)11 x4 635 2.9 ghz want to set up as raid 05 if possible thank you
Please give our customer services team a call for specific advice. Personally I'd strongly recommend going with RAID-1 rather than RAID-5 though; RAID-5 is a bit of a legacy from the days when HDDs were expensive and it was important to provide redundancy while making the most of relatively expensive hard drives. Nowadays, especially for home or small business use, the increased complexity means that you are really much better off with RAID-1.
Missinformation by Mike
In the response to PaD it was said that if he wanted to run crossfire the PSU would be fine for two graphics cards which is probably acurate
However, the motherboard isnt, it only has 1xpciex16 slot so he (or she) would need a different motherboard to run an SLi system
It is the Evo version of this board that does support SLI.
Will this mobo support by Oscar
a EVGA Geforce 8800GTX? Its old I know but I am reluctant to spend more than I need.
Should work fine. Basically any PCI-E graphics card should work.
dimensions please by bob
can someone please tell the exact dimensions of the board ( in case the case I plan to buy is too small )thanks!
Standard ATX form factor, 30.5 cm x 21.3 cm.
