Fx 8150 ready? by Daniel
When this mobo says it's "AM3+ ready", what does that mean? Does it mean the bios is pre-loaded and will run an fx 8150 straight out of the box or do you need to flash the bios first?
i believe you may need to update the bios to support the fx cpus
Building a PC by Callum
Hi,
I was wondering if all of this will fit.
https://www.aria.co.uk/WishList/fE6oERXfMJ5ubWEYuQo8yw,,
Also what PSU should I use and what CPU fan would you recommend?
Thanks,
Callum.
yes those items should work together , i would recomend this cooler , its is a self contained water cooling unit with 0 maintenaince
if you want something cheaper or just prefer air cooling you could go for any of our coolers over 25 pounds
Great! by KillaKingDL
A fantastic mobo! Lots of SATA III connectors which is good for me as I have 2x60gb SSD's in raid 0 for the boot drive and 2x1tb HDD's in raid 0 as main storage for games with a 120gb SSD as a cache for the HDD's and a dvd-rw as well as a blu-ray rw.
Speaking of raid 0, this board makes it incredibly easy for users who have never raided before as the raid 0 drivers are stored on the bios so there's no action needed on the end users part! Simply plug in 2 drives (same make/model is preferable) and the first time you turn on the machine you will be able to raid the drives!
The board also runs a nice, stable OC of the FX8150 running at 5.0ghz (with the help of a corsair h100) and when put through a benchmark with maxes the cpu usage out to 100% and left for over 24hrs, I came back and was still as right as rain.
The only downsides (and reason for 4 star and not 5) are the spacing of the pci-e lanes. Put a dual card in the first and it not only covers the next slot but will be almost touching anything in the 3rd pci-e slot as well, the pci-e x 1 slot above the main x16 slot is pretty much unusable as the heat-sink is right on top of it.
Secondly, the OC, while great and stable and cool is at a slightly higher voltage than the same cpu with the same cooler (h100) used in the same case (antec 1200 V3) but with the msi gd65 board. That being said, the board is easily kept cool and while the higher voltage should, in theory, create a higher temp, in practice the temps were almost identical when taking into account delta temps.
All in all, depending on your SATA and pci-e expansion requirements, I would recommend the msi gd-65 over this for the slightly better OC and (in my opinion) ever so slightly better build quality. That being said, if you need, or are going to make future use of, the extra SATA ports this board is fantastic and again, the inclusion of the raid drivers on the bios cannot be over-looked and leaves me wondering why it's not in/on more mainstream boards (including the "higher" ud7) particularly top of the range board
4x dual channel ram? by Harry

thanks alot.

Yes, as stated in the description, this mobo supports "4x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 32 GB of system memory, Dual channel memory architecture, Support for DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz memory modules"
Does it support Quad SLi by przemro
Does it support nVidia Quad SLi with dual GTX 590?
This only supports 3 way SLi
