 Brilliant by VauxhallVictorman

I have a Western Digital 6Gbps Optical drive and to get into Windows 7 ultimate would take 2 mins or more but with the Crucial SSD and with a triple boot and two user names to select , I can get into W7 and use it in just 24 seconds. In fact I dont even have to wait for Lavasofts very slow Ad-Aware to load to use it. IE8 opens into google immediately with no delay. Outlook 2010 says starting for 1 second and then is ready to use. word 2010 opens immediately. Expensive yes but well worth it. GET ONE. You wont regret it.

Question  Boot Drive by Kyle

Hey, i have noticed that this drive has a slower write speed but a super fast read speed. I have also looked at the mushkin 40GB SSD which has way more write speed but not as much read speed. Which is better for windows 7 boot drive??

Answer by gavin on Monday, October 18, 2010
Faster read speed, as that's what counts while booting. The Mushkin one will install stuff faster, this one will load the installed stuff faster :)

Question  Question by Kyle

Hey, I have a fully running gaming pc right now. Can i install this drive later and make it the primary boot drive or do i need to install this drive first, then my storage drive??

Answer by gavin on Sunday, October 17, 2010
You can install this later.

Best hard drive I have ever owned =) by carebare47

This drive is great. My first SSD (and my first new hard drive in two years) and I do not have any complaints. Windows 7 installed smoothly with no problems and boots from my AM2 Athlon x2 6000+ x64 processor in about 10 seconds (once it has POSTed). 64GB is enough for the operating system and my most used programs (which now all start instantly). As I have said before, cannot fault this drive at all. Brilliant =)
