Product Overview
The new EVGA GeForce GTX 970 is powered by the next-generation NVIDIA Maxwell architecture, giving you incredible performance, unmatched power efficiency, and cutting-edge features.
Maxwell is the most advanced GPU architecture ever made, designed to be the engine of next-generation gaming. Inspired by light, it was designed to solve some of the most complex lighting and graphics challenges in visual computing. For the first time, gaming GPUs can dynamically render indirect light using the new VXGI (Voxel Global Illumination technology. Scenes are significantly more lifelike as light interacts more realistically in the game environment.
EVGA ACX 2.0
This card features EVGA ACX 2.0 cooling. With optimized Swept fan blades, double ball bearings and an extreme low power motor, EVGA ACX 2.0delivers more air flow with less power, unlocking additional power for the GPU.
LESS IS MORE
Did you know that the power consumption of a fan can directly affect your overclocking ability? Modern NVIDIA graphics cards have a maximum power ceiling that takes into account the fan power consumption, meaning the lower the power consumption from the fan, the more power available for the GPU! Triple fan coolers from competitors increase power consumption, thereby lowering your maximum overclocking headroom. When it comes to graphics cards cooling, less is more!
ACX 2.0 FANS ONLY ACTIVATE AT 60C+
To further support users in their goal of attaining both a powerful and silent PC, the fans on the ACX 2.0 cooler do not activate until the unit has reached more than 60C. These temps are well within the safe limits of the GPU, but this ensures that when you are reading email or watching TV on your PC, you won't hear an active fan in the background.
DOUBLE BALL BEARING FAN DESIGN - THE BETTER CHOICE
There are many benefits to using a double ball bearing design in our ACX 2.0 fan motor, the greatest being that it provides a 400% longer lifespan over competitors' oil-sleeved bearing designs. The oil used in sleeve bearings will dry out in a shorter period of time, or potentially even leak after an amount of usage.
Dynamic Super Resolution Technology
Enable the detail of 4K monitors, on a 1080P display. DSR produces smoother images by rendering a game at a high resolution, then downscaling it to the native resolution of the display using advanced filtering.
Super-Smooth and Stutter-Free
GeForce GTX 970 cards support tear-free, super-fast NVIDIA G-Sync monitor display technology, including 4K. Together, these technologies provide the most immersive and competitive gaming experiences possible.

Comments, Questions & Reviews:
PSU requirements? by James
I don't see much detail in the way of requirements for the card. The ones I am interested in particular are how many pins it needs to connect to the PSU. I would also like to know if my 500W PSU could handle the card along with my i7? On a side note is there an easier way for me to work out how my watt usage is?
Thanks for your help,
James
Hi James,
This card needs two 6pin PCI-E adapters, EVGA states the minimum required PSU is 500W however I would recommend a 600W PSU if you are also running an i7 CPU.
http://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator is an excellent tool for finding out your power requirements.

970 Making Noise after couple of week of owning it by RaZeR9229
Could I please have help I keep hearing a weird noise coming from my card but only when I launch up games I dont know if it the coil whine sound if so do I need to come in store and get a new one I am scared on what it is and don't want the card to break and burn it out in anyway my temps highest is 74c 75c that on GTA 5 with max setting but that it
If it is a high pitched squealing noise then that will be coil whine, if you are still having this issue it is best to send the card directly to EVGA.
