Gelid Tranquillo CPU Cooler
The Tranquillo uses four power heat pipes and a special heat pipe constellation to achieve the best heat transfer from CPU core to the aluminium fins in its class and lower air flow resistance as much as possible. A very quiet but effective cooler!
The tower CPU Cooler Tranquillo uses four power heat pipes and a special heat pipe constellation to achieve the best heat transfer from CPU core to the aluminium fins in its class. After precise software simulation and calculation during the development stage, a unique heatsink shape was created to lower air flow resistance as much as possible.
The cooler is supplied with a very quiet 120mm fan. It features intelligent Gelid PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) control which has been chosen to make this heatsink more desirable. The fan blades are optimised to guarantee high airflow while running quietly. The intelligent Gelid PWM curve keeps the fan quiet when the system is idling or under low load but the fan speed will increase when additional cooling is needed. The multi-award winning high performance GC-2 thermal compound is also included in the package - making it a complete package to cool virtually any desktop CPU.
Additionally mounting clips for AMD 754, 939, 940, AM2, AM2+, AM3 and for Intel 775, 1366 and the latest 1156 sockets, providing compatibility with Intel LGA775, Core i5 and Core i7 motherboards are all included. The cooler is RoHS and WEEE conforming and carries a five year warranty.

Probably a dumb question, buuut... by Calvin
Would this fit in a Coolermaster Elite 342? If not, can you recommend any that would, or a fairly cheap case that may allow me to fit it in?
yes it should do so the gelid is 153mm high and the case has a width of 180mm
Great buy! by palesaint
Bought this and it arrived yesterday, I was looking for a silent cooler, this one came with good third-party reviews and for £24 how could I say no!
My first thought was "thats massive" - I actually have to leave the side of my case off since its too tall!
Installing it was a pain, I had to completely remove my mobo in order to install the backplate for mounting, and due to the size of the cooling fins tightening the screws was very awkward, thankfully they are designed so its possible ot tighten them by hand. After spending about an hour dismantling and re-assembling everything it was on and i booted up.
It runs VERY quietly - i'm actually thinking of buying a new PSU as my current one is louder than this heatsync, even when my processor is under a high load. It runs very cool aswell- around a 25C drop compared to the standard heatsync for the AMD Phenom II Quad 3.4. Under load temperatures peak for me around 42C.
Aside from the (single-time) pain of installation, this is a fantastic heatsync, runs at such a low volume its not noticable at all, runs cool and looks beasty! I would definately recommend this to anybody looking for a cheap silent-heatsync, absolute bargain!

Is this v2 of the Gelid Tranquilo?
yes this is the rev v2
Fitting by Lewis
Hi, will this fit inside the coolermaster silencio 550, because it says that it is 1mm under the max cpu cooler size for the case and I wondered if it is one of those times when they say that it can handle a few more mm than it actually can?
