Selecta_G,
I will have to respectively disagree with your review.
I am using the exact same case, on Vista Media Center.
The IR sensor works perfectly. It picks up every mapped key.
It did take some time to get it working however. You need to scrap the CD drivers
that come with it. And download the IMON application from IMON.
I tried this on 86x/64x Vista, and they both work fine.
Don\\'t bother if you use MCE by selecta_g
Don't bother with this if want it for the the LCD panel and you use Vista Media Centre. The IR receiver is not fully compatible; especially if you are a user of Media Centre TV Pack 2008 - you will not be able to use Teletext or Interactive TV (the "red button") on Freeview because the IR Receiver does not recognise the requisite buttons. Also - if you use Media Centre in a window (i.e. not maximised) then any press of a remote button (IR keyboard or TV remote) will give focus to the MC window.
I have disconnected the LCD panel from the mobo and am using a Microsoft IR receiver and remote.
The LCD panel is supplied by SoundGraph who state "iMON supports MCE application not completely but sufficiently, though iMON is not an original MS IR device for MCE". I disagree - support of Vista Media Centre is totally insufficient.
VFD or LCD by Billistic
Hi,
Can you clarify if this case has a VFD or LCD display please.
You have mixed up vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) for cathode ray tube (CFT)
In relation to the display built into the case, is it LCD of VFD?
Does it depend on whether its the silver or black case if its VFD or LCD.
It's LCD.
And no, both the black and silver have LCD panels.
