I bought a Maxtor 200GB Sata today and they do need the power connector. I also have the maxtor 160Gb and that had connections for both. Back tomorrow to collect the cable...
Yes, sorry about that - it seems that Maxtor in their infinite wisdom have decided to leave off the Molex connector on the DiamondMax +10 drives!

U don'tneed these for Maxtor S-ATA drives they can also take the std 4 pin Molex
