Comments, Questions & Reviews:
Amazing Value by Mike Cleverley
I bought this mainly as a travel companion, so I can use e-mail, Facebook and Twitter when I am on holiday.
I have been delighted with it after a week of getting used to Android. Once I have set it up for my Yahoo mail and FB it logs onto my network and works fine. I have loaded BBC player and the picture quality is amazing.
I am not a fan of touchscreens for typing so I connected up a standard keyboard, using the supplied adapter, it worked immediately. My only criticism is the US layout, so that the @ sign is in the wrong place.
I have used it in my local pub, with free wifi and it connects easily. all in all Amazing value for money
Very Good product by Hector
Good product. Nice speed. Great support from both Aria and the Manufacturer. Nuff said.129 of 238 people rated this review as helpful
Better than expected ... by Austin
For the price, hard to see how anyone could complain.
Does video, web, email etc without fault. Wifi range is reasonable if not brilliant. Enough RAM for most things (just don't have too many apps open at once) - plays angry birds smoothly enough! Will even play h.264 720p video.
1. The manual says the installed eReader supports ePUB format. It doesn't. You'll have to install another from the app store. There are plenty to choose from.
2. The manual says you can't charge from a computer via the micro-usb socket. Actually you can. What they probably mean is a PC socket doesn't quite provide enough current (amps) - if you plug it into a mobile phone charger (at least 1 amp) it works fine, just takes a bit longer to charge (the provided dedicated charger is rated 5V @ 2 amps).
3. The free keyboard is a bit rubbish - and quality control seems to vary wildly on the ones I've seen, with badly assembled and sticky keys. (But hey, it's free and even with its foibles, it is useful).
4. The sound quality even through good headphones is a bit poor, so one star off for that, but I may be being a bit harsh at this price point!
Pocket Rocket by G.Brook
The previous reviewer is wrong. There is no such things as Android 4.4.2. I think he meant the OS is the latest Android 4.2.2.
However, I do agree its surprisingly fast even when playing games. I think this is to do with the quad core graphics chipset. Like computer systems, unless you are doing intensive database or floating point calculation, most games and programs relie on the graphics card to do most of the grunt work.
Also the latest Android 4.2 is quite a jump in terms of smoothness from 4.1 because of Project Butter. I also like the fact this company's tech support is not a premium phoneline.
Unlike the other brand I had previously where I was charged £1.50 per minute! The Sumvision's helpline are proper UK english speaking technician unlike the Indian call centre I was pass onto with the other brand.
I don't know how Aria is doing this little pocket rocket at this price. It's definitely a bargain buy.
Amazing product for the price by TylerSH
I wasn't expecting much bearing in mind its so cheap. Was pleasantly surprised as it was aactually surprisingly fast for a single core. No jerkiness or stutter so far. maybe its because its got the latest Android 4.4.2 OS with the project butter upgrade. Nice functional keyboard case with nice feedback on the keys. Not too bothered about the low 4Gb as I can just pop in a 32gb SD card sorted. Battery ok for over 2 days standby. Wi-Fi seems very stable and def better than other brands of I had. The free tech support is competent. So all in all, very pleased with the product and service.205 of 370 people rated this review as helpful
