Ethernet cards & drivers by Yecats Knarf

The netgear etthernet card apparently works with most operating systems whereas the tp-link card has drivers for most systems. What's the difference? Does one come with drivers on a CD and the other with nothing at all.

I am having trouble with my Netgear card and plan to replace it but am not sure if that will really be worthwhile. The problem arises in the netgear driver code and that appears to be a Microsdoft product. I am ttempted to buy a TP-link card if it by-passes that MS drrriver???

Sorry - rather long but any help would be much appreciated.
