Comment by 4GB MP3 player

This is my first MP3 player and so far so good! The device is easy enough to use and comes with a small instruction leaflet. The quality of the sound playback is as good as anything I've heard through headphones and depending on your software you can record music files at a high bit rate e.g. 440Kbps!, although I must say the quality of playback at the standard 128Kbps is more than good enough for me.Can only get about 4/5 radio stations on the FM tuner though. Still very good value for money, recommended!

This was my first mp3 player. I wanted something cheap and reliable I could also use as a flash disk, and I specifically wanted one with an external battery rather than rechargable, so if it runs out when I'm not near a power point I can just change the battery and keep playing. For 4GB I thought this was a bit of a bargain.

You get the player, 1xAAA battery, earphones and instructions.

The player itself is small and light, the battery about doubles its weight! It is plastic but it feels reasonably tough, all the removable bits click on securely. It is all smooth and rounded so you won't get stabbed by corners when it's in your pocket. It has 4 buttons; the 3 on top are the hold switch, the play/pause/stop/power button and the A-B button which I think you use to record? or something. I haven't really explored that one. On the front next to the screen is the menu/volume button which is an up-down, left-right toggle thing. It is really small and I find it a bit fiddly and annoying. The screen is very small and basic but it's not like it has to play videos or anything.

The earphones that come with it are fine, basic but they fit snuggly which is nice cos my old ones used to fall out all the time. Anyway if you really care about sound you probably never use earphones that come with players, you may as well fork out a bit of cash for some decent ones.

It goes reasonably loud. The volume goes up to 32 (a bit random) and 20 is pretty good.

Putting songs on is really easy, just plug in the player to the USB port and it comes up as an external drive, then drag and drop.

Navigating the folders on the player is quite easy when you get used to the buttons. If you are listening to a track you can only skip forward/back one track at a time, unless you press the menu button on front which takes you to the menu (obviously) and you select 'folder'. This lets you navigate in a folder-tree kind of format. One bad thing is that when you first go to the folder it always starts off on whatever song is currently selected instead of at the top of the tree, so to change artist you have to click all the way back out to the top, which is a bit annoying and I don't see why they did it like that.

Other options in the menu are settings where you can change things like how long the backlight stays on and how long til the player turns off if you're not doing anything. There is an EQ
