after reading some mixxed reviews about this screen after i had ordered mine i was not sure what to expect, as you can imagine most people who buy somthing are either in love or hate with their new product and i must admit i am in the first camp.

this screen is big, so much so it does overcompensate for its short comings, which i will get out of the way first. it defaults to 100% brightness which is way too much i dropped it to 35% and thats still bright and the contrast is also to much for my taste which i also dropped to about 25%. it has a x-contrast feature which is great for darker things like movies but when enabled it removes all your control over the brightness and contrast so when the on screen action gets bright again it gets very bright. having said this it does make games look stunning. with the screen set at defaul it does show some light bleed along the top edge too but that lessens alot when you turn it down.

the iq looks great if you are sat at the right angle as the veiwing angle is slighlty limited but my screen came with a stand that is full adjustable with height, tilt, and swivel adjustments even tho the details above only say tilt. this might just be the batch they have atm tho so bear that in mind.

now thats all the faults i can find but dont let any of that put you off, for the price this screen is a steal and with a 1920/1200 res you get a whole lot of desktop real estate for your cash and what is a stunning screen to play games and watch those bluerays on. bear in mind tho that you will need a beefy graphics card to really get the best out of it as i found out, my now aging nx8800 gts 512 oc edition cant quite feed it enough fps in the games i like to play unless i turn the eye candy down. the cod games play fine without aa but crysis warhead wont run on full unless you like to watch a slide show :(

all in all well worth the money seeing as its only a little bit more than a good 24 inch screen with about the same specs and trust me when i say the size of this is impressive for a pc screen and for watching movies i was blown away once i had set it up for my liking.

I was told by some people who checked the stats for this monitor that it would be rubbish....dark and with poor colour definition.

They couldn't be more wrong. The colours are rich and sharp and if I turned the brightness up it would take my eyes out.

Must say, it does put out some heat through the screen after a while!

Question  Vesa Size by Lewis

Thinking of getting one of these to replace my 26" tv

Does anyone know what size Vesa bracket these take? Current tv is vesa 400 x 200, not a standard mount so i had to make a bracket.

Is this this same? different?

There's nothing on the HannsG website, or the downloadable Spec sheet.

Lew ;)

I believe this monitor uses a Vesa 200x200 bracket.

Very nice monitor by steve s

this is well worth the money, went and got one the other day and its a lot better then my old one

as for the question from BN (one or 2 down) yes you can switch between the 2, I have my ps3 and pc on it at the moment BUT if you just have say your pc on it auto selects it.
