This comes with a power cable, but not DVI.

 Amazing! by Simon White

At Christmas (2008) I ordered two of these to replace my single 19" Monitor.

When they came, I unpacked one of them and thought I shouldn't have ordered two. But they run nicely on my 9400GT.

They are very bright, so I have had to turn the brightness down a bit.

However, instead of being over £100 I got them when they were only £85 (approx).

These are a great monitor if you're looking to build a new computer, or just to replace your old one(s).

I had the same reaction to this display after powering it up as many other reviewers did - WOW this sucker is big and bright - especially when it replaces an ageing 17" monitor.

It arrived on time, well packaged and reasonably easy to hook up. As reported by some other reviewers the cables are tucked away under a panel at the back and I found clipping this panel back on a little tricky as one side tends to pop out when you clip the other side in. But it's not that hard and it keeps the back neat and tidy.

I already had a long DVI cable, so no problem there but I found that the audio cable could have done with being another half metre longer. My monitor is on a desk pedestal with the mainframe being under the desk but diagonally from the monitor so long leads do help. I realise that one day when I want to disconnect the mainframe to make mods I will curse the fact that I have a short audio lead and that I will either have to disconnect it from the monitor (and that means taking off the back panel) or blindly pull out the audio lead from the back of the PC.

With DVI no adjustment other than resolution is necessary but I did tone down the brightness a little bit. Having the audio volume available via the front panel switches is neat, no fiddling around with a rotary volume control as there was on my old monitor.

Something must have changed from earlier review as a couple referred to a bright blue light for power indication. Mine has a bright red light on standby, a dull green when receiving video and a dull orange when no signal is being received.

The Digimate website states that the monitor has a 3 year warranty but registration is not required, just recommended. From the box I have taken off the easily removable serial number labels and stuck them inside the operating booklet and I have kept a copy of the Aria invoice so that I can prove the date of purchase. Fingers crossed I will not need the warranty.

I've only had this monitor for a couple of days but I am very pleased with its looks, its performance and so far I have yet to detect any stuck pixels. I would highly recommend it.

 Question by ronald

Can i get this product tested for any dead pixels before despatch?

Answer by stevenl on Saturday, August 29, 2009
Yes, you would need to order the Dead Pixel Checking service at the same time as you order the monitor.
