Question  Question by Dooky1973

I have currently use a Corsair H75 Water cooling kit on my FX-8350 (overclocked to 4.6Ghz). Will the H75 be powerful enough to cool this chip, especially if I want to overclock it?

Answer by samuelm on Saturday, February 21, 2015
These chips run warmer than average, the H75 may not be enough to cool it if you wish to overclock. I would be looking at the H100.

Question  Motherboard & cooling compatability by Gavin 2712

Hi would this work with the Asus Crosshair V formula z mobo and would it be able to utilise the processor full potential?

Also would the NZXt Kraken x61 all in one liquid cooling be adequate?

Answer by samuelm on Monday, January 26, 2015
It is indeed compatible in relation to socket, unfortunately the board you have mentioned will not support the power requirements of the chip.

Question  MSI 990FXA G65 ? by rmk

One of your replies says that this CPU will work with the MSI 990FXA Gd65 but the MSI compatibility chart does not show this CPU

Answer by samuelm on Friday, January 23, 2015
There is some misinformation regarding these motherboards and chips. The official line is that they are unsupported due to the TDP but people have indeed installed these chips on the board. I would not recommend it just in case something does go wrong.

Apologies for the contradictory information.

Question  Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P by Rowan

Hey

Will this work with a Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P AMD Socket AM3+ Motherboard.

Thanks

Answer by samuelm on Tuesday, January 20, 2015
Yes it will.

Compatibility by Diego

Is this processor compatable with the radeon 7990, is it crossfire comparable and what is a good motherboard that could be used with the 7990 and the 9590?

Response by samuelm
There won't be any issues with compatibility, depending on your budget the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 would be a good choice in board.
