With a 780i board??? by Tom
I am looking to buy an xfx 780i motherboard and was wondering whether this memory would work with it well... i noticed that this runs pc2-8500 and the board may not =( also if the board wont run this could you recommend an sli supporting board which could run this (at a reasonable price =]) cheers
While I cannot guarantee compatibility, this ram should be fine in an XFX 780i motherboard.

bought a pair of these back in July 08 - after a RMA got a working pair and got them working no problems and oc'd way beyond published specs.
was looking thru the super specials yesterday and decided to buy another 2 pairs since the price was soo good (2 seporate orders)
got the 1st order today and it's the same as my last 1st order - 3 systems boot great with 1 of the modules installed but as soon as the other module is in place (by itself or with the good 1) the systems do not post. (yes all 3 systems run no problems with my orig pair installed)
normally i would swear by OCZ as i've used them for dozens of systems without problems but this is testing.
these have recently been reworked by OCZ so they now come with nickel plated coper pipes to reduce risk of corrosion and the heat spreaders are now more streamlined which i think look a bit better - no idea if they perform any better yet - may let ya know
woulda been 5 stars but the reliability issues i've had have had some effect

These are massive and heavy, good quality feel too, i bought just 2 sticks as i knew 4 wouldnt fit with the big arctic freezer 64 pro it the fan covered 2 slots doh!.
These work well and sit nicely in front of the fan to keep em cool! ive never had any problems with OCZ ram and ive built hundreds of PC's, so buy em you wont regret it.
