I bought this and cable #37601 to add capacity to an ageing Dell Dimension 5100. The whole process was a breeze from start to finish.
Aria's delivery couldn't have been any faster. Got the drive home the day after ordering, installed the drive and cable, switched the device on in the F2 startup menu thingy and formatted through the Device Manager utility in XP.
As my PC is old (5 years) the formatting did take four hours to complete. However, I can't fault either Aria or the hard drive so 5 stars.

will it work with a hp g7000 laptop by gwyn
will this work with my hp g7000 laptop,as i want to change my cd burner for a better one,and then have a larger storage capacity on my laptop,as its got 2gb ram at the momment,as i use a lap of storage spacy as 2 store my music on my laptop,as i copy cds wich i burn to windows media player,and i then copy those files onto my mp3 player,and im not sure if this driver will add extra storage space as well,and also to back up my music files and to back up my other files just incase i loose them,as this has happened to me before,as i lost some music files and some pics from my laptop,as they were also saves on various formats,and i couldnt find those files again.
This is a 3.5" HDD, designed for use in a desktop computer. It will not fit inside a laptop.

How long is the warranty for and who is it with? I noticed other Samsung drives have three year warranties on their product page why doesn't this one?
