Great replacement for 8800gtx by Boomstick
Just ordered one of these to replace my 8800gtx. Had that card for a year and its been great but always had problems with heat, has to buy modified fans for my case and set onboard card fan to 100% .Im purely buying this card as it runs as fast as a 8800gtx ultra but requires much less power and will output much less heat it also comes with lifetime warranty you cant go wrong!
lol, think i'll stick with my 8800gtx
April Fool: nVidia gives enthusiasts the finger! by Initialised
Releasing this card on 1 April 2008 shows what a joke this card is.
Looking at current prices by buying this card you are paying a £30 premium for an extra power connector, an extra SLi connector and a revised cooler over the equally capable 8800 GTS 512MB. Most of which will have no problems running at 750/1800/1100 (core/shader/memory) with a small increase in fan speed or higher on water cooling.
Unless you absolutely have to have three-way SLi this card is utterly pointless. Even if you do want three-way SLi you would be better served by three (equivalently priced) 8800 GTXs due to their higher memory capacity and memory bandwidth.
With this card nVidia have literally given their customers the finger. Give it back, don't buy this repackaged 6-month old card.

This card is part of the new G92 series, which means although the clock speeds and spec aren't as high as the high end 8 series, they run a lot cooler and consume much less power. This also means you can overclock them ALOT! Nvidia has always started off new series cards with lower specs than that of the highest spec of the previous series, although they have never in 17 months made much progress from the 8800GTX performance wise, its just a beast :)
