Description:

WINDFORCE 3X features 3 ultra quiet PWM fans. The special inclined triple-fan design effectively minimizes the flow of turbulence between three fans. With a unique vapor chamber, WINDFORCE 3X is able to transfer heat from the hot spot to the cool spot as thermal energy becomes evaporated to the surrounding air. By capillary action, the condensed liquid droplets circulate back to the base of chamber. The cycles of evaporation and condensation enhance heat dissipation for greater cooling efficiency. Moreover, WINDFORCE 3X is equipped with three copper heat pipes to strengthen the speed of heat dissipation.

Gigabyte’s UDV board employs high quality components including 2 oz Copper PCB, 1st tier memory, Japanese solid capacitors, ferrite core chokes and lower RDS (on) MOSFET, resulting in 5% - 10% lower GPU temperature, 10%~30% better overclocking capability and 10%~30% less power switching loss.

With explosive performance and an innovative thermal design, NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 570 rips through the latest games like World of WarCraft®: Cataclysm, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X.® 2 with quiet operation. As you've come to expect from a GeForce GTX GPU, GTX 570 packs support for all the premium GTX gaming technologies such as DirectX 11, NVIDIA® Surround, 3D Vision™, PhysX®, and SLI®. Question  slots by cinek

how many pci slots does this card cover? 2 or 3?

Answer by andrewn on Tuesday, April 12, 2011
The backplane covers two PCI slots but the large fans mean that this will take up 3 slots worth of space internally.

Question  Noise level by inspirevideo

I have pretty much decided on a GTX 570 GPU but one thing that is important to me is noise level. Which is quieter this Gigabyte Windforce or the MSI Twin FrozR? I currently run a Palit 9800GT 1GB and it is by far the noisiest part of my system, would either of these be quieter than it?

Thanks

Answer by andrewn on Sunday, April 3, 2011
Both cards are fairly quiet. This one probably has the edge. Without hearing your current 9800GT we really can't say whether this is quieter or not. Certainly these cards will have to work a lot less hard to achieve the same results, which should result in less need for the fans to go full out!

Question  compatibility? by inspirevideo

I am going to build a new system soon but would like to upgrade the graphics card just now if possible, would this be compatible with the gigabyte ga-ep35-ds3l?

On it I'm running an Intel Q8200, 4Gb Corsair Dominator 1066Mhz Ram, Corsair HX750 PSU in a Lian Li Mid Tower Case if that makes a difference.

Answer by andrewn on Monday, March 28, 2011
Should be compatible.

Question  Noise by SpinalJack

Is this card any quieter than the other GTX 570 cards and is it good value for money performance wise?

Answer by andrewn on Friday, March 25, 2011
It's cooler and quieter than the reference cards, yes. Value for money, you'd need to decide yourself really, it's a performance card which isn't really aiming to be value-oriented; the 560/460 fit that description better.

Hi

Can you tell me is this card a reference card capable of taking a water block?

Thanks

Answer by andrewn on Monday, March 21, 2011
This is not a reference design.
