Memory by ooohhhaaarrgghh
If I were to buy this card and give it a memory boost, which memory would be best?
You can't upgrade memory on a graphics card.
Don\\'t waste your money, go NVIDIA by Bongeh
I've been an ATI convert for years. This recent card has completely put me off ATI.
I bought two of these, for running in crossfire on my new windows 7 system. i7 bloomfield cpu, rampage III mobo, 12gb of corsair GT ram, pretty nice spec.
I've been PLAGUED with driver issues. When the cards work (which is a rarity) i've experienced 60+fps on enthusiast settings on Crysis and some very nice fps on full gfx settings on FFXIV.
However, the constant crashing of drivers, due to TDR (timeout driver recovery) events and blue screens of death due to ATIKMPAG.sys it has pretty much rendered my system unusable.
Every attempt at trying new drivers, even a system format has deemed fruitless and my only solution was to go back to my 5870 which is fully reliable. However, the reason for the upgrade was that it wasn't powerful enough, and so as such, i've moved back to NVIDIA.
Unless some new, stable vista/7 catalyst drivers are released, do not waste your cash.
Was this review helpful to you?
