peltier by karl
Do you think this would be suitable if i were using a peltier device between this heatsink and the cpu? i know i would need alot of cooling power for this and i think this fan would do the job, do you agree? also would the fan still clip onto the motherboard ok with the peltier device inbetween it and the cpu? I know about the condensation threat posed when using a peltier device and I will take the necessary precautions to stop it (pcb lacquer etc).
These can get rid of a lot of heat, so for what you need this and the bigger 9700 are ideal - because of the way these mount, it should be a simple job of replacing the screws with longer ones to accomodate your Peltier - let us know how you get on!
Thermal materiel by 3Shirts
Does this come with a thermal pad/paste or do I need to get some with it?
all the heatsinks we sell come with thermal goop
Question by Brian
Will this work okay on a socket 775 Quad core processor, specifically the Q6600 2.4Ghz?
Oooooooh yes

i installed a new system, from scratch, Nvidia nForce 680i SLI Pentium D 3.4Ghz Dual Core Corsair Extreme Ram 1G DVD/CD RW was runnin at 70 degrees plus the cpu, and 30 degrees for the system! caused loads of problems and crashes till i installed this beaut! dropped the cpu temp when being absolutely hammered to 50 degrees or less, and the system temp just a little over 20, if you want a good bit of kitt at a good price id really reccommend this! :D

I replaced the standard Intel fan with one of these beauties. It is simply superb - noise is reduced and the idle temperature of my processor (a Pentium D 940) has dropped 10 degrees in the same case! Highly recommended!
