Power beyond my needs! by Ryan
This CPU is a monster. It eats every process alive! FAST is not the word. It's as if it's ticking over when running high end games and multiple processing. I've never seen it go above 21% usage. I have it running under a Noctua NH-D14 at 4.5GHz stable at around 58 on the hottest core and 51 on the coolest core, this is beyond stable for this clock speed and will not struggle with processes for years to come. (maximum voltage for this CPU should be 1.35 to keep it working for years)

Re-stock by Ryan
Hey Aria,
I was just wondering if you will be getting more stock as I go on holiday in 2 weeks and plan to build my system with this CPU after my holiday. I also wondered how long the promotion price on this and the Mushkin Chronos 120GB will be around as these two parts are essential for my system.
Now in stock! :)
better than i5 for video editing by Davy
Hi; I currently use the following to edit wedding videos:
GA-Z68 mainboard: 16gb ram: I5 2500k CPU: 120gb ssd + 1.5tb storage on ordinary hard drives: GTS450 1gb graphics. OS: windows 7 64bit. Works really well with video studio prox4. (From final edit to burn disc image 75 minutes long takes about 50 minutes. Would this cpu make much difference to render speeds
You would see an improvement if the program you ar using is hyperthread enabled. If not then there would not be a significant difference.
Delivery by Chris
I will end by buying this but for now I thought I would comment on Arias delivery and as soon as I saw that they could deliver the next day and I thought to myself that cannot be right so I went on with the purchase and hay-ho the next day city link arrived with my stuff. So from not on I will only buy my computer parts from aria, so thank you lovely aria people :-)
You're very welcome :D.
Question by TheFinalSync
Hi,
I'm looking at building my own gaming pc and was wondering if this cpu would be better for gaming than the i5 2500k.
Also would i be able to overclock this to 4.2 with the default heat sink and keep it stable.
Thanks
yes it would be better for gaming but you wont notice a great difference between the two in gaming
